Harbel Pointers lose to Defenders, recording second loss
Just like their Nigerian brothers (Hoopers), defenders were hopeful to snatch a second win from the Liberians who both have a win in the pocket from their last two games.
At first quarter the Liberians had a tough match up as they couldn't meet up the defenders physicality, who out played them leaving them 11 points short. At the end of the quarter (11) - (22).
Second quarter was more of the same for the defenders who kept the momentum and stretched their lead to 13 points at the end of the quarter, (23) - (36).
Third quarter saw the Liberians give the Nigerians a run for their money as they cut the lead down to 6 points at the end of the quarter. At Q3 (47) - (53).
At the final phase of the game, the Liberians a side that is definitely a team to watch out for gave the Defenders a run for their money as their No 7, Divison Samuel put in an overall 17 points, 12 rebounds and 2 steals but with the help of skipper No 4, Ijiba Joel's overall 17 points and 4 rebounds the defenders stayed confident ending the quarter with 7 points to claim a second win.
