One of the junior women Nigeria national team athlete, Fumnanya Ijeh took to the business of making beads. Follow her business page: Instagram , Twitter. In 2015, Fumnanya was one of the players to help get Dolphins Basketball Club their first and only championship, at the women’s league. Currently playing for a new team (MFM Basketball), they finished second place, which qualified them for the FIBA Africa Zone 3 games. In her career with the junior national team, Fumnanya won the MVP at the FIBA 3x3 Salamatou Maiga Bamako, Mali tournament, in 2018. Owing to the pandemic and nationwide lockdown, she worked and honed her skill in beads, ranging from waist, to ankles, wrists and even footwear adorned with them. This new skill revealed her artistic side, as picks up little pieces of stones to make them masterpieces. “With my new found passion, I’m very much excited to receive positive feedback from clients” she said. “So far, most of my clients are from Lagos. They love it.” She added. “I see this business growing bigger in the next five years. My plan is to make it global; have different branches/shops in few countries, whereby it can be easier for my clients who base in any of these countries to be able to purchase for beads of their choice” she concluded.
