River Hoopers claim third straight win after big tussle with host
River Hoopers from Nigeria and Elan Sportif Benin match up for game 7 in what seemed to all was going to be an intense match up. With both recording clean sheets in previous games winning two games in a row it was about time to know who is stronger of the duo. The home support system for Elan was intense, it seemed almost certain the Hoopers wil fall prey to the fan base but the tale was different going into the start of the game. The hoopers matched physicality, technicality and upmost concerntration against the Elan team in the first quarter. At the end of the first quarter it was obvious Elan knew they needed more than the fans if they were to win this game as quarter ended with 6 points differentiating the sides in favour of the hoopers. score (23)- (17). Going into the second quarter was more of the same but team Elan closed in on the hoopers using the fan's wit and making every basket count at half time it was down to 4 points in favour of the hoopers. At the end of the half score was (41) - (37). Elan couldn't get a grip of the hoopers going into the third as the half time talks wore a different shade of courage on the hoopers who played like it was no man's land. Lead was (56) - (46) in favour of the hoopers, who were 10 points ahead at Q3. It was the final quarter and it seemed all odds were against the hoopers but they kept their calm and were able to end the game on a strong note. Game ended (71) - (63).
