First edition of the FIBA Africa Basketball League, Morroco. (Group A) Team Rivers Hoopers of Nigeria, lost to the defending champions Association Sportive De Sale of Morocco, 59-88. The Nigerian team who started the game with a 7-0 run at the blow of the whistle, lost failed to maintain the lead, at the final. Rivers Hoopers arrived at the venue a day prior to this match, due to late funding by the Rivers state governor; and you know what they say: "better late than never." #7 Precious Saliu made 12 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, while import player, Abdul Yahaya had the highest efficiency for the team, with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. To stand a better chance for the team to qualify for the next round, Rivers Hoopers are expected to get in gear and win their next two games against S.L.A.C of Guinea and JS Kairouan of Tunisia, respectively.
